Back seat

Here I am, sitting for hours and hours in the back seat.

I am being told that the current seat assignment situation is temporary. I have only a very small portion of the back seat. Apparently, we are transporting boat doors back to Pursuit. This truck is stuffed with stuff. I did see my bag get loaded so that’s a relief. Thankfully, our truck has a full bench seat and not captains chairs in the back. Some of my friends are complaining about these small seats in their new trucks. Normally, I like to stretch out and use the whole back seat. I don’t see why these doors have to be on my seat… why not on the roof or in a trailer. What the heck….how would they like it if I put my bag on their seat? Oh well, at least I know for sure I’m going with and not being left at their friends, with family or, the worst, a kennel.

Honestly, this trip feels a bit different. I am not being left in the car while mom and dad go inside buildings and sit down at a table. I think they normally eat inside these places. Sometimes I can actually see them. How mean. Why not bring me inside too? On this trip, they come out of places with a bag of food and eat in the car. How convenient. Seems like we should do this all the time.

One fun part of driving is the hotel rooms. I like when there are two beds. I like to fly across from bed to bed. What fun! Snarfing as we walk down the long hallways is fun too—so many different smells……

We stop at places called Rest Areas a lot. My parents are old and seem to like to rest a lot! However, we never actually rest…. we walk briskly, they dash inside a building, I take care of my business and then we leave. No resting.

We are on day 2 of our travels. The first day is always great. I get to sleep a lot because I know there is not much scenery. We drive straight down a long road. Oh, I wish I could stretch out more. However, I best not complain.
