Tomorrow we head for home. We don’t even have a route picked yet so that’s how excited we are about ending our Bob adventure. Today will be spent cleaning the boat and deciding what stays with her and what goes home. We will be back in about 2 months so a lot of things can stay. We have no idea how long it will take to pull the boat and get her stored properly so we may be eating thanksgiving dinner at a truck stop!
The last few days have gone fast. We spent a wonderful day in Leesburg with my Aunt Beth, Uncle Jim and Cousin Sandy. We had a few cocktails and got caught up. Our families share the devastation of Alzheimer’s with my mom (Jim’s sister) and Beth both needing full time care. It helps to talk about it. It also is just fun being there. The other family trait we share is good humor with a touch of sarcasm. Thank you Woessners! One last thing is the absolutely wonderful meal. Jim’s Korean BBQ can always lure us away from the ocean. A great day.
Yesterday we walked Flagler Avenue in NSB doing a little shopping and lunch. Joe needed to replace his NSB bumper sticker which went to Mr Cummins when he bought our truck. Bill won’t give it back.
There was a kite festival on the beach so we watched that for awhile and then headed back to the marina. NASA was launching a billion dollar weather satellite last night. After about an hour delay, off it went. It was pretty close to us for awhile and we could actually hear it. Pretty cool sight but new didn’t get any good pictures. ”
We feel we have learned a lot about the boat and are much more confident in moving her around. Especially watching other boats coming into the Marina doing a lot worse landing than we ever did. The small space takes some getting use to–if only there was a spot for my clothes–but it is manageable. We learned you can make an excellent chips and cheese in a frying pan!!! We were pretty bad with cooking on the boat but tried about 10 new restaurants!!! Lots of dog friendly spots here. We are scared, very scared, to see our credit card bill when we get home!!!! Maybe this will be Thanksgiving dinner…

The biggest lesson came from Alabama which is a lot more Deep South than where we are floating. We learned to say “Thaaaaat’s nice” very slowly with a drawl when you actually mean to say “f__ you”!!!!!

Here is a shot of our last Flybridge Happy Hour for a while…..
