Saturday Nov. 5

Wow, we left October 25, so we’ve been traveling 10 days already.  Could not ask for better weather; although, I hear it’s been fabulous at home too.  We got a little rain and wind friday night but other than that we’ve been in the ’80s.  The last few days have been spent doing boat projects (our boating friends understand this jargon) and reacquainting ourselves with New Smyrna Beach.  A few of our favorite spots have closed….I mourn the Dolphinview…home of the best coconut shrimp and dolphin views 😉 but there are so many other places to go.

We’ve been hanging close to the Marina the last few days–watching huge $$ boats come in for the night.  Most seem to be on their way to the Bahamas.  Our boat may be small, but we haven’t lost control of her (yet), smashing into a dock and causing her to take on water!!!  Poor man with a very large Bayliner.  We have also enjoyed sitting on our flybridge with a refreshing beverage watching the boats cruise by on the ICW.

Today, we did our morning walk around a historic ruin park and then hit the farmers market.  Next we went to Coconut’s favorite park.  A dog friendly peninsula on the Ponce inlet with trails, boardwalks and ocean beaches.  We all love it.

Of course, after our long hike and beach walk we stopped at Tony & Joe’s for refreshment.  Coconut was a big hit there, especially with an airline pilot from the west coast of fla.  Let’s just say we hope he isn’t working for at least a couple days!!!

Here’s our sunset the previous  night at JB’s Fish Camp.  We were fortunate enough to see a couple manatees cruising through but not lucky enough to get a photo of them.image
